The original announcement about who was to benefit and how, is very different from the actual grant rolled out, as evidenced by the eligibility criteria. Thsi grant doe snot cover sole traders and operators, it is more applicable to SME's. Chamber lobbies for the criteria to be broadened to include such traders or a new support provided specifically for this group

This projected reduction in Waterford Council's revenue of over €3 million must be compensated for in full this year at the very least, to allow the council, to adapt to the financial impact of the new rates
