Even if diagnosed early, 30% of women diagnosed with early breast cancer will progress to metastatic disease. While there have been advances in breast cancer therapy, metastatic breast cancer currently remains incurable and many patients with metastatic breast cancer don't feel part of the the conversation around breast cancer.
