[Social Protection] Following an invitation from the IAFD, Senator Maura Hopkins, Fine Gael Seanad Spokesperson for Rural and Community Development met with Funeral Directors in the Hodson Bay Hotel in July 2018. The Senator gave a commitment to write to Minister Regina Doherty, Minister for Employment Affairs & Social Protection, to ask the Minister to meet with the Board of the IAFD to discuss the possible re-instatement of the Bereavement Grant in some form and a review the Exceptional Needs
