[Health] lobbied on behalf of the National Community Care Network (NCCN) for cooperation between the Departments of Health and Social Protection in addressing the home Carer shortage crisis by changing the basis for Social Welfare Payments eligibility from hours per day to hours per week. Thus enabling persons to be carers of Older Persons and others for a minimum period on one or more days without being penalised and exempted from social welfare entitlements as is the case today.
