[Health] Céile Care met with Minister O'Donnell TD to share an overview of our family-run nursing homes and their role in community-based, nurse-led care. We discussed opportunities for closer collaboration, highlighted ongoing workforce challenges, and stressed the need for a sustainable staffing framework. Our focus remains on supporting positive ageing, enhancing care options, and ensuring quality, future-ready care in local communities.

While Céile Care is a network of individually owned, family-run nursing homes, we acknowledged the issues highlighted and are committed to taking away valuable learnings from the programme

[Health] Meeting with the DOH officers in which we outlined in detail the significant staffing challenges being experienced across many homes, and the ongoing impact that the 50:50 rule continues to have on recruitment and operational stability. We also held a detailed discussion on the recent MAR threshold increases, which significantly raise the cost base for nursing homes given the significant reliance on employees requiring work permits.
