[Community] We discussed the results of our recent Broadband survey and how Broadband services provided to people across County Wexford and how they are still inadequate and fall below expectations of what it should be. We highlighted that with the Government’s Remote Strategy plan underway for Ireland, it is vital that Broadband services are vastly improved, or it will result in a failed attempt to provide everyone with the same opportunities to work remotely.

[Finance] County Wexford Chamber has made its recommendations ahead of Budget 2022 and requested Government to act on the areas highlighted over the next 12-18 months. In particular, the supports for vulnerable businesses will be critical in the coming months and we have called for their withdrawal to be gradual to avoid the risk of a wave of insolvencies hitting our economy.

[Tourism] Wexford is a county which is highly dependent on tourism and the impact of the loss of the tourist season this year has yet to be fully realised. Our members highlighted the reduction of the VAT rate as critically important to enable them to survive the economic shock.
