[Economic Development and Industry] SETU is a stimulant to the success of our county as it provides a skilled workforce and opportunities for collaboration. We need to ensure that the Carlow campus continues to grow and thrive. Employees need housing and transport options – we need to ensure that there is access to transport options and a plan for the delivery of suitable housing within the county to meet the needs of the growing population.

[Economic Development and Industry] There needs to be further strengthening of public transport, to facilitate greater county-wide connectivity, and inter-county connectivity. We also need to see Waterford Airport runway extended so it can become a commercially viable airport and key link in the economic development of the South East region. While Carlow has good road links to Dublin, Kilkenny, Waterford and even the Europort in Wexford, we need better road connectivity for towns like Tullow.

As a county we are still far behind our neighbouring counties in terms of FDI levels – and we need to continue to push for more focus on Carlow as a great place to live, work and do business.
