[Tourism] 23.09.2020: AVEA (Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions) wrote to senior civil servant Martin Fraser regarding the extreme challenges faced by the visitor experience and attractions sector, which had had extended periods of closure, and about the input our sector might have into NPHET considerations and decisions regarding opening/closing our highly controlled and tightly managed spaces.

[Tourism] 18.11.2020: After the Government announcement of the partial reopening of visitor attractions and experiences in early December as the country moved to 'Level 3' of the Living with Covid Plan, AVEA wrote to An Taoiseach, An Tánaiste, the Minister for Tourism, and the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to thank them for their support and belief in our sector, as we prepared to re-open.

[Tourism] 07.12.2020: AVEA wrote to An Taoiseach Mícheál Martin to express shock and frustration at the Department of An Taoiseach’s revision of the guidelines for the Visitor Experience and Attractions sector on 4th December, which was incompatible with guidelines originally published by Fáilte Ireland on 30th November. The revisions to guided tours/experiences and to Santa experiences were in practical terms unworkable and changed with no notice.
